Completion date

This is when the buyer's conveyancer pays the balance of the purchase price to the seller's conveyancer. Ownership of the property is then transferred from the seller to the buyer. In Scotland, this is called the entry date.

The completion date is typically a few weeks after exchange of contracts but can be done as quickly as the solicitor allows.
