Help FAQ ASU FAQ

1. What is Accident, Sickness and Unemployment (ASU) cover?

In the event that you are unable to work due to a disability (ie, accident or sickness) or unemployment for 30 consecutive days or more, you will be entitled to an amount equal to 1/30th of the monthly benefit for each continuous day you are not working after the first 30 days. Payment will continue until you return to work, 12 monthly payments have been made, your policy ceases or you fail to provide evidence that we may require, whichever happens sooner.

ASU cover is available for mortgages. Because we place some of our insurance with one insurer, we can only provide details about the cover available under our scheme with that insurer, Pinnacle Insurance plc, who will underwrite your ASU policy.
